Zig & the Whys privacy policy

This policy explains what Zig & the Whys (zig.skillprowess.com) and the Zig & the Whys Android app collect, why, and the choices you have. Questions go to leverageonheroes@gmail.com.

What we collect

• No accounts for children. The app creates a random household ID on your device instead of asking for an email or password.
• Child profile: the first name (or nickname), chosen buddy and age band (4-6 or 7-10) you enter, linked to that household ID.
• Questions: when a child asks Zig a question in their own words, the question and Zig's answer are stored with the household ID so grown-ups can review them in the Parent Corner, and the question is sent to an AI provider to write a child-safe answer. A grown-up can turn this off in the Parent Corner.
• Activity: saved whys, Why Wall posts and progress, so the app remembers them.
• Grown-up details: if a parent buys a plan on our website, Stripe processes the payment and we keep the parent's email and plan. Support messages you send us are kept so we can reply.

How we use it

• To run the service you asked for and keep your history.
• To manage your plan, if you have one.
• To answer support requests and keep the service secure and working.

We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or share it with anyone except the service providers below.

Service providers

These companies process data for us, only to provide the service:

• Supabase, which hosts our database and sign-in
• Cloudflare, which hosts the website and app
• Stripe, which takes payments on the website (we never see your full card number)
• AI providers that write child-safe answers (OpenAI and Google Gemini)

Children

Zig & the Whys is made for children aged 4 to 10, used with a parent or carer. We collect only what is listed above, show no ads, do not track children across other apps or websites, and do not sell or share children's data. A parent or carer can ask us at any time to see or delete their household's data.

How long we keep it

We keep your data while you use Zig & the Whys. When you delete your account or ask us to, we delete it within 30 days, except payment records we must keep by law.

You can ask to see, correct, export or delete your data at any time by emailingleverageonheroes@gmail.com. See how to delete your account.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and stored with access controls.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date above and, for important changes, tell you in the app.
